Climatic and Edaphic Resoures of agricltral

Prerequisite : 361211 & 362441 or consent of the instructor

 

Description: TThe course in focus on edaphic and climatic resources in relation to crop production. Climatic data including rainfall characteristics and distribution and evaportranspiration are examined. Simple water balance models are discussed with respect to potential growing season. Approaches to agroclimatic, land suitability assessment, and agro-ecological zoning of Thailand are introduced.

 

Objectives:The students should be able to:

  • understand, quantitatively, current knowledge in climate and soil processes with respect to agricultural production,

  • understand, quantitatively, current knowledge of major plant processes with respect to crop production,

  • understand major principles and approaches in agricultural resources management,

  • use available information systems to assist the learning process.
