1. As a group you are requested to set up a workshop to use the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to prioritize multi-purpose tree (MPT) species. The choices of MPT are bamboo, eucalyptus, mangos and neem.  
 

a) Identify goal, criteria and construct a hierarchy of this decision problem.
b) What are the weights that you assign to the above criteria? Show your calculation.
c) What are the final ranking of the above tree selection? Show your calculation.
          You should work both as a group and try to assign tasks for each individual member of a group and combine them as a group report.

2. Review published articles on the application of AHP in solving natural resource management issues. Select on case of your choice and discuss the example in the article that you selected as follows:

 

a) Hierarchical structure of the decision problem
b) How AHP was conducted?
c) The outcomes of the decision making process.
