Description:Characteristics and alternative uses of land and water resources. The concepts of resource valuation, market and non-market pricing, optimization and public/private resource management. Institutional aspects of land and water resource in the context of ownership and tenureship and their implication of efficient and equitable use. The impacts of population growth, technology and development on quality and supply of land and water resources. The interrelationships between land/water resources, human populations and agricultural systems under alternative development strategies.
